DR. OZ ON P-M NETANYAHU – “HAS A TRULY HEARTFELT AFFINITY AND DEEP RESPECT FOR TURKEY”
Meeting is part a historic weeklong visit to Israel facilitated by Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson
Dr. Mehmet Oz and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach were guests of Israeli Prime Minister in Tel Aviv today as the two American media personalities continue their week long tour of the holy land with their families.
“I was encouraged by how passionate the Prime Minister was about Israeli-Turkish relations and how insightful he was about the need for these two countries to become closer allies. He has a true heartfelt affinity and deep respect for Turkey. Working together, Israel and Turkey can help stabilize the Middle East and build bridges towards prosperity. I am deeply grateful to my friend and host in Israel Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, and Israel’s new Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, for organizing the meeting.” said Dr. Oz of the visit.
Rabbi Shmuley added “Our meeting today with Prime Minister Netanyahu and the substantive conversation on Israel, Turkey, and the Middle East, made Dr. Oz’s trip to Israel not just inspirational made unforgettable. What made it even more special was me and Mehmet being joined in the meeting by Ron Dermer, Israel’s newly appointed Ambassador to the United States, who is my dear friend of twenty years and my former student at Oxford.”
The trip was initiated by Rabbi Shmuley who recently awarded America's most famous medical practitioner and his wife as Champions of Jewish Values, together with Elie Wiesel and Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson at the annual This World: The Jewish Values Network gala dinner in New York. With the generous support of the Adelson's, Rabbi Shmuley invited Dr. Oz and family on a voyage of Jewish values through the Holy Land. The two American media personalities had originally met as colleagues during their time together as radio hosts on Oprah and Friends.
