In RENEWAL, Rabbi Shmuley shows readers how to use the following timeless values of Judaism to live a more fulfilling, modern life:

·      Destiny. No human life is predetermined.  Each of us possesses the freedom of choice.

·      Redemption.  Focus on the impact you have on this world rather than the hereafter.  The betterment of the community must always outweigh personal salvation.

·      Enlightenment.  Education must not simply be a means to an end. We have an obligation to be ennobled through intellectual adventure, to widen the horizons of the spirit by a lifelong quest to know.

·      Action.  What you do is more important that what you believe.  The concept of mitzvah – good deeds, righteous actions – is the most central Jewish value of all.

·      Marriage.  Marriage is an obligation that teaches men to be less militaristic and more nurturing and peaceful.

·      Struggle.  It is wrestling with our nature, rather than attaining perfection, in which we achieve true righteousness.

·      Sacred Time.  The exaltation of time over space. Objects are always subordinate to precious moments.
